I loved-loved-loved “Salem’s Lot” by Stephen King! Did you watch the movie with David Soul?

Hi J. Kaye, no, I haven’t watched the movie yet, I’m saving it for closer to Halloween. Although checking imdb.com, I see that there was also a newer version. Uh-oh.

I envy you being able to read the excellent Stephen King. I am spooked by the supernatural and stay away from his books to avoid nightmares. Will look for your review!

Hi Harvee, I’ve been saving “Salem’s Lot” until it is dark out before reading. Helps set the atmosphere.

I haven’t read Mystic River but loved the movie. Have you seen the movie? If so, is the book different?

I’ve saw the movie when it was out in the theaters, and I thought it was well-crafted. I have the DVD, and I haven’t watched it in a few years, but from what I remember, the movie hit all the major points in the book, but there are always going to be parts that don’t make it into a screenplay. The movie can stand on its own, but you’ll get more insight and history from the book, like the details from the 1970s, which take up about the first 50 or so pages.

I think in the fall I will take part in this. I have noticed that I don’t get to read much in the summer not sure why.

For me this week I have to read:
-Honey Its All in The Shoes (for a blog tour)
-Two Years No Rain (blog tour)
-Summer House (blog tour)

But I want to read Before I die. That will have to be in August I think.

This fall there will be another Lehane adaptation to hit the theaters – Martin Scorsese directing Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo in “Shutter Island”, supposed to be out on October 2nd.
