Musing Mondays – Reading Soundtracks
Rebecca at Just One More Page asks about whether you have a soundtrack to go along with your reading.
Do you listen to music while reading? Does this change if you’re reading in or out of your house? Do you have a preference of music for such occasions?
When I used to take the MBTA or fly, my iPod was my trusty companion on the T as I read while commuting. Now, though, I do not listen to music while reading. In fact, these days I tend not to listen to music at all unless I can focus on it.

When I was a teenager, I used to listen to music all the time. Music and I were almost inseparable. Now that I’m older, I just do not have ‘divisive attention’ and can concentrate on only one thing at a time, so I do not listen to music (I can’t even have a TV playing loudly in the background sometimes) while reading.
