Musing Mondays – Reading Soundtracks

Rebecca at Just One More Page asks about whether you have a soundtrack to go along with your reading.
Do you listen to music while reading? Does this change if you’re reading in or out of your house? Do you have a preference of music for such occasions?
When I used to take the MBTA or fly, my iPod was my trusty companion on the T as I read while commuting. Now, though, I do not listen to music while reading. In fact, these days I tend not to listen to music at all unless I can focus on it.

BBAW – My Shortlist

This week is Book Blogger Appreciation Week, and Monday’s post prompt is:
What book blogs mean something to you? Who are your most trusted sources for recommendations, your greatest help, the blogger you turn to for a laugh or to vent? Whose writing do you admire or who introduced you to a whole new genre you didn’t know about?
Cindy’s Love Of Books – Cindy is the person I can point to when anybody asks me who introduced me to the book blogging world. She’s helped me many, many times with questions on the behind-the-scenes workings of blogs, and there’s much more that can be said about her, but since I want to be brief, I’ll just say, “Thanks, Cindy.”

Josie, lad? Where are you? You all right?
Josiah is kneeling down. He is silently cradling Dick in his arms, and Dick is dead. Josiah looks up at the blood-spattered McSpadden.

Musing Mondays – Reading Trends

Today, Rebecca at Just One More Page asks about reading trends.
Do you find yourself forming trends in your reading? Is this a conscious act, influenced by either your own interests or current publishing fads?
The biggest overall trend in my reading over the past few years has been self-directed, and has been focused on reading screenplays. That’s as far as format goes, but as for content, I’ve not consciously stayed with particular themes or subject matter over others, but rather went with the works that have generally been well-reviewed or recommended by people I know, or from authors whose previous works I’ve enjoyed.

Tagged for ABCs
Seeing as how I recite the ABC song with my son frequently, it is good timing that Cathy from One eyed stuffed bunny tagged me with this ABC meme.
The rules:
1. Link to the person who tagged you
2. Share your ABC’s
3. Tag three people at the end by linking to their blogs
4. Let the three tagged people know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website
5. Do not tag the same person repeatedly but try to tag different people, so there is a big network of bloggers doing this tag
